It's Not About You
Listening for God's voice and having discernment is so critical to honoring God's plan for your life. For me, after years of intentional prayer asking God to show me what he wants for me, I heard God tell me "It's not about you." And Ministry Makers was born. Through God's grace, He has been preparing me, for years, in so many other parts of my life for this ministry and I didn't even know it. I am so excited to see where the next steps take me.

Lost
My daughter was going through a rutt and I asked Ministry Makers if their Christian Mentoring program could help. We were not looking so much for a ministry to peruse as much as getting my daughter to a place where she could see herself as part of a bigger picture. Ministry Makers mentors met with her and guided her to see God had a bigger plan for her than just the daily grind and gave her an insight to recognize there is a little more to this life and something down the road to look forward to. She is now back on track to her career and looking for ways to volunteer and give back a little.

Giving from a Generous Heart
Giving generously seems like an easy statement, but if your heart hasn't broken for a cause, it is hard to know where to tithe. Talking with my Ministry Makers mentor helped me see where my financial blessings from God could be used and helped me connect with a few causes that I didn't even know needed support and ended up very close to my heart and past. My mentor also helped me reckon with the struggle of letting go of my money in a healthy way that was in line with Biblical principles.

Starting Over
Starting over in life is hard enough, but starting over when you have a Christian heart for serving, but little time or resources to serve is even harder. Ministry Makers helped me see that tithing isn't strictly giving of money and find ways to serve in church and my community that fit my schedule and gave me a few budgeting pointers as well so that I can hopefully increase my monetary tithe in the future.

Overwhelmed!
I had an idea on how to help people and I actually had people ready to donate to my idea, but I had no idea that I had to start a nonprofit, let alone how to do it. Ministry Makers helped me step-by-step in the application process, coached me on compliance and made sure I understood all the big task I was undertaking. They also encouraged me along the way, keeping me focused on why I was doing it and that it is worth it!

Working on My Testimony
I was connected to Ministry Makers by a potential employer as part of an on boarding process to find my role in the organization. Through the mentoring process, I discovered that I wasn't far enough into my personal recovery to be any help to anyone else yet. I haven't found my place yet, but this experience led me to seek a more permanent recovery solution. I am still in recovery, and know God is not done with me yet.

Supported My Ministry
I have a heart for giving hard to employ young men a second chance at employment. I teach job skills, work ethic, and respect. I own my own business and just did not have time or interest in starting my own nonprofit, but I had many colleagues who wished to support what I was doing. I partnered with Ministry Makers. They were able to support me and my ministry for a season. They guided me and the young men I was working with, allowing me to not only offer these men employment but life skills for success outside of the workplace.
